Hello all! I have a Magix 3.0, I need to be ablke to dial (6) from any telephone to access the loudpeaker paging. I have set up paging the following way and I get a 6 second delay before the amplifier kicks in.

Assigned trunk 835 (Paging amp) to pool 890
Assigned dial out code of (6) to respective ext
renumbered pool 890 to 6

I get a six second delay, I need to get rid of this. What is wrong??

Thanks

Ron K.

Remove the trunk from the pool. Assign it as a paging trunk under aux equipment. Renumber pool 6 back to 890. Renumber trunk 835 to 6. Use #96 (pickup trunk 6) as the paging code, or put it on a button.

TouchToneTommy: this location has a sister site also with a new magix 3.0.(just upgraded from legend 6.1) Both sites have a lot of single line telephones and they need to access paging by just dialing a 1 digit code.I have this working now at the first location, as they had it working with the legend system. If I never got it to work at location one. I could probably buffulo them into this concept. However, this is not the case. Any more thoughts??

Thanks Again.,

Ron K.

You can try getting a paging adapter that hooks up to an analog extention port and renumber the analog extention to 6.

Any of the following will Work

VALCOM V-9970
VALCOM V-9940
AVAYA PAGEPAL
BOGEN TAMB

TTT is right with his recommendations.

No extensions can be a single number other than the EXTENSION ZERO !

How do you have the one location doing this with a single digit?

I have done this as well, except we used a bogen multi-zone device that sends talkbattery back to the trunkport so it can be accessed. What I would do, if you have the tools, is place a tone generator on the trunk, place the tone on continuity, access the trunk port and see if it takes 6 seconds for the light on the tone generator to light. The reason I say tone generator is because it sends 9V dc back to the trunk port to make it think it has dialtone. It sounds almost as if it's the paging amp doing this, not the legend. The only issue you run into when doing it this way is when you assign restrictions to the single line phones. You need to add allowed lists and change ars.

I forgot about the 1 digit extention thing. If all else fails use 666 on an analog port. most people would't forget that number ;)

Actually, you can have a single digit TRUNK!

Just not an extension.

i WILL CHECK Ooops!! , i will check and see what the sister site is using for an amp. They may have one of the trunk adapter things there. Probably why it works.

Thanks for your input Guys

appreciate it as always......
