Hi everybody,

I need to know how to configure a third part system to paging from my Mitel 3300 MX, this have a paging contact port, if i connect a speaker in that port, where can i enable the feature to page from a phone to this system.

This is the diagram.

Person --->Phone ---> 3300 MX (Paging port) ----> Speaker

How can i enable this port to make this action?

Thanks for your help.

You have the diagram slightly wrong.

Person -->Phone-->3300MX Paging Port-->Customer provided Paging amplifier-->Amplifier drives the speaker(s).

The RJ45 port on the back of the system is does not generate enough wattage to drive a speaker. It is only designed to provide a milliwatt signal to an amplifier. It is the amplifier that will drive the speakers. I believe that just the middle pins (pair 1) are the active conductors. There are many ways to phyically make it work. Everything from crimping an RJ45 plug on to a X-Connect pair that gets terminated on the Amplifier to a CAT5 Patch cord to a BIX JACK and using X-Connect from there. Just use your imagination.

When you are in the programming of the system, Click Help and type Paging or loud speaker paging. You should get lots of info on how/where to program the port on the back. I would outline it for you but I don't have immediate access to the help files.

As a point of interest, you will not be able to page your sets at the same time as the you do loud speaker/overhead paging. Not yet anyway.

Good Luck!

also i would use the normally open or closed contacts to the relay is not always open because on my system sx200icpmx there is A LOT of background noise when the paging relay is open. does this happen to anyone else? is it because my cord that runs to the amp is mixed with all the other cords (power cords, phone cords, security cams, network cords, etc in a in on of those cord rack runners)? also how come mitel doesn't have a paging tone generator for the PA. its so annoying because no one ever pays attention and i always have to repeat what i said.
