Hello all,
We just had an evacuation of our building drill, and part of our announcement process aside from the air horns we placed around the building is to jump on the Loudspeaker.

00 - Everywhere, 01 - Offices, 02 - Shopfloor

can i set our system up to also use the intercom over the speakerphones of all our extensions, like a 03 - Evacuation code? Those on the phone with their doors shut didnt hear the page.

On the Merlin Magix Page Group I believe Page Group 799 covers all digital extensions and an external paging system.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

You can do all call (which will cover the phones, and your external page port) on a Magix.

You have a few tricks to do first on a Legend as it's external page and internal page are separate and not combined with any code to make them both work simultaneously.

What system DO you have? A LEGEND or a MAGIX ??

grr, magix is a pain... i miss the command line of my old definity system at my last job!

Im trying to assign Group Page to a button, and 799 isnt an option, i have 571 to 598 as option.

We dont need it to work simultaneously, im reading up on this, and it says i should have an option to group page all phones with a speakerphone, but im so lost where to go to configure this. I dont have anything related to Voice or ICOM or something that looks vaguely close when im editing the buttons.

I cant reset my phone now to have button 2 = SysAcc Voice-I, theres no option to!

Is there a CLI i can use instead of this GUI?

Just create an inside "autodial" button for ext 799. or press Intercom and dial 799 - it works the same.

Sounds like someone may have done some renumbering ...
793 to 798 are default numbers for page groups, and 799 is the default ALL PAGE.

If your dial-plan has been changed, you need to know what the Page groups were re-numbered to...

Once you know the group access code you need, add it to a button (you cant over-write a systen access or CO Line programmed on a button with a feature)

On a magix phone, press speaker (hear internal dialtone)
Press #00
Press the button you want it programmed on
Press *22
Enter the Page group access code
ENTER

This will give ya ALL CALL over all the Magix phones, and you can do it on a speakerphone...

Get a "print" of your dialplan using WinSPM - and the current Paging Groups will be listed. The 7th entry would be your current "Page All" group.

The default Telephone Paging Zone entries are:
TPZ #1 793
TPZ #2 794
TPZ #3 795
TPZ #4 796
TPZ #5 797
TPZ #6 798
TPZ #7 799

wow, big report!

ok, TPZ is similar but mine is 593, 594, etc

593 to 598 dial busy

599 displays paging, then i must enter 00, 01, or 02 for our physical "zones"

We have 2 Bogen amplifiers upstairs, i wonder if that is what is controlling the 00, 01, and 02?

Where would i go to assign one of the free 59n to the intercom?

ok, i was hearing things... 599 pages all the stations intercom just fine.

the 00, 01 is for the overhead loudspeakers and that must be a different group.

Loudspeaker paging uses a LINE port to interface.

You will dial #9 (pickup) and the line number to access.

Once the paging system answers, you receive a "dial tone", and that's where you put in the zone or all-zone code to access the speakers.

You can include the loudspeaker paging line in the all call group, but everyone is going to hear the dial tone and DTMF digits through their speakerphones while you are setting up your external page.

You can save yourself a step by adding the Loudspeaker Paging port to the 799 Page All group (or whatever code it has been renumbered to).

Going forward, simply dial 799 to simultaneously send a page through both the extension speakerphones AS WELL AS the amplified loudspeakers throughout the facility.

You must have at least Magix release 2.2 for this ability.
