Is there a way to access the loudspeaker/intercom paging feature from auto attendant, and if so, a way to restrict that access to a pass code or to certain lines?

from an 18-d phone they dial intercom, 70 for loudspeaker and intercom, *70 for loudspeaker and all phones paging.

i set up a transfer only extension to 70, but that didn't work.

avaya partener ACS 4.0
partner messaging 1.0 with 4 port card.

thanks

check out viking electronics they make a paging amplifier that you can run a co line to and it will answer then let you page.
model Model: ZPI-4

you could hook this up to a unused staion port then outisde caller could enter that extension number when the auto attendent answers .

as to password only let key personell know what the extn number is

while that does sound like a plausible solution, alas, i'm out of station and co ports, and the existing infrastructure is already using the paging port. i was hoping that there'd be some way to do it. any other responses?

I don't think that would be a good idea. It would be too tempting for someone to harass them.(disgruntle employee)

yah, but i'm using a voip solution to connect two offices, and i'm using fxo ports to interface, so paging through the auto attendant seems to be the best solution.

use the paging amp I mentioned earlier then use a line sharing device like the stick on the last line in rotary

plug the paging amp port into the modem (or fax) port on the stick

the caller would do a *3 after he hears the first ringback to transfer to the modem port which would then transfer him to the paging amp rather than partner switch.
