Ok so i got a nice Pent d 3.3 ghx cpu and socket 775 mobo
Alls good except the cpu fan, its way too loud.
I originally got a 17 $ fan/heatsink, was loud. Then got a $30 fan and heatsink thinking it would be quieter. It was as loud as the cheapie.
Any ideas on a quiet fan and/or heatsink?

Try the artic cooling brand fans, Stock intel fans are way too noisy, I bought an Artic Cooling Alpine 7 heatsink/fan for my Pentium D 930, and its way quiter and is a bit colder (cools the CPU a bit more), so the max speed that it has reached is about 2400RPMs, but you still can't hear it, you hear the PSU fan more than the CPU fan.. for that 3.3 I think the freezer 7 pro will be more suitable.
