Lotus notes - Unable to locate program

Do you have Excel installed on your PC ?
Notes has a viewer which is used when you just want a "quick" view of the info.
When you launch an attachment, Notes is calling the corresponding application and transferring the attachment as a data file.
If you do not have Excel installed, this cannot work.
If your xls extension is not referring Excel correctly, it will probably not work either.
Bottom line is, if you can't do it in Notes, there a fair chance that you cannot do it by double-clicking a, Excel file in your Explorer either. It's an Excel problem, not a Notes problem.
