lotus notes running and no sharing violations in activity log

Hi, I was told by CA that the lotus notes server definitely won´t be backed up successfully if I don´t buy an extra arcserve client for notes.
However, if I back it up without this client and look into the activity log the following day there appear no sharing violations at all.
Does that mean that it had been backed up sucessfully or is there any other log in which sharing violations might be found ? Has anyone made a similar experience ?

Hi,

I use ARCserve 2000 without any additional agents, so far I haven't had any problems successfully restoring mailfiles. I restore them elsewhere, then manually copy them to the notes\data\mail folder.
