The Company I work for are looking at changing from networked drives to Lotus Notes Roaming in ND6 for access to Lotus Notes. Roaming is IBM's preferred route in managing user IDs, as they do not support networked drives any longer.

Has anyone discarded this in favour of any other method or products?

What are the problem in Implementing this?

Your input will be helpful!

Thanks

One thing you will want to look at is server space. When a user is converted to roaming, it will replicate bookmarks, personal journal, and address books to the server. While this is not a large amount of data, normally per user, it can add up.

Also, remember to include the user ID in the person doc so that when the person roams, they dont have to path to wherever the ids are stored when they log in from another machine...

When you use roaming users in ND6 the notes ID gets incorporated into the personal address book, then the pab gets copied to the specified directory on your Domino server. I agree with aszumilo that server disk space should be at the top of the list of priorities.
