I am having a problem which has gotten worse each day. My client pc's are P133 & P166 running Win95 and Lotus Notes ver R5. We are running Netware 5.0. We are also running NAV 5.24.
Some clients, with the above configuration have the problem, not all.

Here is the problem:
A user double clicks on the notes icon and is stuck on the clock. When you hit ctrl-alt-del, some of will allow you to end task and you can use other apps, others just freeze the entire pc and you have to reboot.

What network protocol are you using to connect? In my tenure in working for Lotus Professional Services, I've learned that it's TCP/IP or bust. Other protocols can get really screwy, especially on busy networks.

Have you tried unloading NAV?? I sometimes have problems with McAfee AV
p;reventing some programs from installing (usually) or running (occasionally).
Do you have the requisite 64MB of RAM in the workstations? Are you also
running any NFS applications? How about specifying more environment space or file handles? compare the SYSEDIT settings for Config and Autoexec for the stations with and without the problem. Also, what version of NW Client 32 are they running?
I use version 3.1, with and without SP2, with good results. If notes is on IP, how are your DNS's set? different settings for PCs with and without problems??
good luck!
FHW
Fred Wagner
frwagne@ci.long-beach.ca.us
