Lotus Notes attaching deataching problem

hi there,

when i attach and detach files from my mail messages my computer freezes,,,,,,any suggestons,,,,,reallly appreciate it.....i have tried reinstalling notes

What version of Notes are you using, where are you getting the attachement from, and how big is it?

the version iam using is Notes 5.0.8
and the size doesn't matter, whenever and whatever i try to attach or detach the computer freezes,it wont let me do that at all.

Are the files you are trying to attach locally stored, or are they on a network?

they are both locally and network stored
