Lotus Notes 7.0.3 slow on dual-core laptop

Have a new Dell latitude D430, dual-core, laptop running Windows XP Pro w/Service Pack 3. Lotus Notes 7.0.3 runs excruciatingly slow. The performance of all other programs is improved. Didn't have this problem with Notes on the single core Dell laptop which this new laptop replaced.

Anyone experiencing similar problems?
Anyone have a fix?
