We recently rolled out Notes 6.01 to users to coincide with our Windows 2000 SP3 rollout. Users have experienced a "stutter" issue when working in Notes now. They will be typing an email and their "I" bar will stop for a few seconds, then continue. I am not sure what is causing this, but I suspect the new Notes client is a resource hog.

Is there a way to streamline or re-configure the NOTES client to minimize impact on the desktops? We use Compaq Deskpro SFF 933Mhz P3, with 256MB ram.

The mail server has been upgraded to Domino 6 as well.

Hi,

R6 does a lot in the background now. Replication for example. When the system replicates in the backround while the user is typing this may be happening.
Some agents are also running in the background now.

Before the user had to wait untill the process was finished.

So check replication and agents settings.

I am running R6 on a Celeron 600 with 194Mb of Ram on Windows XP Professional and have NO problems!
It is slower then R5 (because I need more ram) but it does not "stutter".

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
