Lotus compatible with SMTP?

Hi,

Is Lotus 5 email server compatible with the POP and SMTP protocol? I'm writing a Visual Basic application that uses Winsock to communicate with the mail server using the SMTP protocol. If it is not compatible, then what protocol does it use and where can I get help in learning this protocol?

Notes uses POP internally (generally) and SMTP with the internet, again generally since it can use other protocols as well. It depends which ones have been established. If you can use notes to send and recieve email via the internet, then you have SMTP set up. Gamesman
