What I want to do is the following:

1) Assume I have a workbook with several sheets. Each sheet is a duplicate
of data of the original sheet, but the sheets are sorted and subtotaled
on different column headings.

2) I want to be able to make a change to individual data items on one sheet
and have those changes automatically take place on all of the sheets
within the workbook.

Doable?
Thanks
John

John,

This seems like a "classic" example of where the "duplicates" could (should) be reports which are generated by extraction of the data.

In such a case, you would only make your changes to the "original" data, and whenever you want one of the "generated" reports, you would select the report from a prompt, or menu, which would allow you to specify the report.

This type of approach offers many benefits. However, it might take a little effort to set up. If you happen to have Lotus 123 Release 5, then you are FAR better off, and the task should be reasonably simple. This is because the programming language is FAR easier to work with than the "Lotus Script" language of the later versions of Lotus 123. (Lotus Script is basically considered a clone of Excel's Visual Basic language).

My employer has converted to Excel, so I have found out "first hand" that Excel's Visual Basic is FAR MORE DIFFICULT.

I have Lotus 123 Release 5 at home, so If you happen to be working with Release 5, I could offer help or guidance.

Otherwise, hopefully someone else out there will be able to offer help.
