We have a situation where a user creates a wk4 file, updates it once or twice, then the file shows up missing. What I have is a client using winXP sp1, a w2k clustered server sp3 (local boot drives and EMC SAN storage), and the files are from lotus 5. We still have a bunch of lotus 5 around here.
So far, our backup software has been able to save our bacon, but I am at a loss as to what could be happening. The file is confirmed as being on the server at around 19:00 when the backup runs, and is gone when the client logs in at around 07:00.
I am investigating other software that may be involved such as NAV/SAV, TSM backup, and Storage Central (storage management software). But we haven't seen this issue anywhere else.
We had a similar issue at another site, but we understand that the issue was that the client was not staying within the 8.3 naming standards. Once they changed that the issue went away.
Has anyone seen anything like this, or am I the only lucky one....
