lotus 123 r9,6 not responding in windows XPpro

Hi all,
In my boss's laptop with windows xp, after a while when working in 123 everything stacks. No error messages appear. just all open programs do not respond.
A repeated 'bip'(sound) keeps coming until the shutdown.The task manager works fine and the only way to recover is reboot.
This only happens when the laptop is connected to the server. He never faced it working stand alone.

I have no idea what to do. I am now searching in microsoft's knowledge base but nothing so far.
CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!
