Currently, I'm using eudora as my mail client. and any time i recieve a 123 file as an attachment and try to open it, I get the following error:
123W caused an exception 10H in module MAIN123W.DLL at 017f:03c0e2b3.

Now heres the catch! I can open any of my existing 123 file fine. And I can open any other type of attachment.
My question is , does anyone know of any compatabillity issue with the two programs?

HELP!

I haven't used Eudora in ages. What happens when you try to open the attachment? Are you given choices to, say, View, Launch or Save? If so, which one are you choosing?

I always save attachments to my desktop rather than open them within a mail client. This allows the OS to launch the program associated with that type of file. It may be an extra step or two but it doesn't cause me trouble either.

What happens, is the file opens, then the error comes up and I can't do anything but close it. I have tried to copy the attachment to the desktop (and other folders) first then open it, but the same thing happens. It's as if it's being corrupted somehow!

Does the name of the file have spaces or long file names?
Is the person that is sending the attachment pulling the file from a directory that has spaces or long file names.

I had this issue with one of my ccmail users. Our ccmail routers run dos and when he would pull an attachment from a folder with long names and spaces, the recipient would receive the message but no attachment.

I didn't check that, but I will. Thanks.

I think I may have cured it though. I upgraded from vr.9 to 9.6. I can now open the attachment in question. I've asked the sender to send me other docs. in the same format, hopfully, this will take care of it. I appreciate the help!
