I recently noticed I had numerous atpsdat.00x files in my Arcserve\Database directory. I had astpsdat.001 through astpsdat.039. The first 3 files (.001, .002, .003) were the largest, 1GB, 700MB, and 250MB, respectively. The remaining files were all 0 (zero) K.

DBFIX took a VERY long time, like 3 plus hours, but the zero K files were eliminated. This is not the first time I have noticed an accumulation of these files. Does anyone know why this happens?

The astpsdat.00x files hold the file-and-folder information in the ARCserve database. The astpsdat will always be the largest database of all. DBFIX can run for days on large databases. What you experience is not uncommon.
