IllustratorCS, need asssistance with finding info. I have tried several times to cut faces out of photographs but everytime I get lost when they start talking raster and vector. So I forgot about this forum. So can someone guide me to a thread which would simply, explain how I cut heads or feet or anything out of a photo to use in another background?
Tried finding tutorials but they can´t seem to log on to the website from the help, I get a blank page

thanks....denis

The only possible obstacles to using Photoshop are not already having it and not having the money to buy it. If that is the case, use GIMP for free.
You cannot possibly progress with Illustrator or Photoshop/GIMP if you get lost on the very basic concept of vector vs raster (bitmap) art. Maybe this explanation can aid you:

Hi

Just go and buy a copy of Photoshop Elements for about $100 and save yourself a lot of hassle.

What you want to do would be very easy in Photoshop which is much more appropriate for working with images.

If you want you can them import them into Illustrator and combine them with the other elements when you are done.
