How can I get it back?

Thanks for any help!!

I have Windows 7 64 and WinXP 32 on the PC.

I recovered them !!! both Partitions

I used Partition Manager and THEY CAME BACK.

However ... How do you guys think that this happened?

Also, all my restore points WERE GONE !!!

Hummm ... any thoughts?

Restore points have gone because you are dual booting XP and Windows 7. IN XP, turn off system restore for the windows 7 volume, and vice versa.

What is the filesystem for the "lost" volumes? If Linux, then Windows 7 ignores them since they are not readable to the OS.

Windows 7 has removed the drive letters thus hiding them.

Allright !!! Now I see why my Restore Points Were Gone. Will remember to turn off System Restore before switching OS.

No Linux involved here, these volumes that were hidden are for Win7/WinXP, same as the one that didn't get erased on that same Hard Drive.

Why then did Windows 7 remove the Drive Letter?

Thank you flyboytim for the help on understanding what happened!!

Windows 7 may remove the drive letters again in the future, if, for instance, you need to repair boot or start-up problems.

Why does 7 do it? I don't know for certain. Windows 7 hides SYSTEM RESERVED volumes, created at by Windows 7 at installation time, and as I've said, Linux and other partitions it does not understand. That's reasonable, but I like to unhide the system volume. Among other things, I put the XP recovery console on there. Your partition manager may be able to add the drive letters. Easeus Partition Master can.

On multiboot Windows machines, I always create a small 2-3 GB swap volume so that I can put any Windows pagefiles and crash dumps on that volume - they do not interfere with defragmentation that way. Windows 7 never seems to hide that volume. All the OSs use the same pagefile.sys without complaint. You may wish to try to place your swapfile on one of the problem volumes.
