the DHCP is serving the numbers.
its that they are not going thru the 172.16.0.1 filter.
any ideas.
I'm sure its in
control panel

we have 2 cards
the 10.82.1.85 (gateway 10.82.1.1) which is the way out a
and the 172.16.0.185 (gateway 172.16.0.1)which is the proxy...
I must have deleted a setting in error

is it the WINS, that is empty for both and I get a message telling me its empty,
 
I'm not sure if I understand what you asking exactly but I will give it a shot.

I think you are saying that the computers are not going through the proxy server before going out onto the internet.

If that is the case you can set the setting like this...
from within Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings -> Click on the box for "Proxy Server" and input the correct information (IP address and port number).
