Some records disappeared from my table and I can't figure out what happened. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
I have a database that is split into front end and back end. I opened the front end, made a change to a form for tab reorder and pushed out a new .mde file. That's it.
I got a call yesterday stating that all the records for the last two months were missing from the table. The table had records in it up until 10/15 and stopping at Record number (autonumber) 145. The next record was dated yesterday, Record # 146 and was a test I sent after doing my work. Records after 146 are being entered into the table correctly. If the records were deleted somehow, wouldn't the autonumber show it, like my record from yesterday would have been a much higher number? My best guess is about 200 records are missing.
The only thing I can think of is somehow someone restored a backup from October over the back end file. It's almost an impossibility this could happen, but I can't think of anything else. If the records were not being entered correctly for the last two months, I would have heard about it long ago.
I hope someone can give me some insight as to what happened, this is a HUGE deal. Thanks.
