Hi,
Just to be quick, I have a Cobalt Qube3 running on our in house network which has MySQL pre-installed. I had originally given myself access to it adn have created an ASP / Access 2000 app running from this MySQL database. I also use 'Premiumsoft Navicat' software as a front-end to the mysql as it is very easy to use, but unfortunately I accidentally wiped my privileges. My connections closed and would not re-open, so I deleted them, and tried creating new ones....but alas...no connection...
Even when I try and telnet to mysql from my Win 2000 desktop, I can log in to the cobalt, but when I try and log into mysql, I just get the following error:
ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)
Whatever combination I try from the [admin admin]$
prompt, even logging in as root, i.e.
[admin admin]$ mysql -uroot -p
or
[admin admin]$ su
I get the same error, so now part of my Access app that I use daily is out of order because it cannot access the mysql db over the network.
How can I reset my privileges to mysql if I cannot even log in ????
Appreciate your help
