Hi,

First I would like to thank you for this forum which I'm sure it helps lots of ppl.

I'm an admin on sharepoint 2003 portal which suddenly started acting strange !!

1- I lost my admin menu (where I can create a subarea..etc.)
2- users get a pop window to enter user/pass.
3- users & me(admin) can access some links other links says we don't have access any more ?

Note :
* using sharepoint 2003 server
* on portal permissions I'm still admin,users still have read access so nothing changed there ?
* I'm not sure if it's a network/windows 2003 server/sharepoint problem ?

Please help.

Thanks

That sounds very very strange!! Have you tried rebooting your server?

Also, whats changed? Somthing must have happened to cause this? Any service packs installed recently?

niceguymattx... I appreciate ur reply,,

Let me give more info :

1- No sp for windows or sps were installed.
2- The domain controler was changed (maybe upgraded).
3- I changed the sps pool identity from predfined to the server admin user/pass >> it made all pages work again for everybody,, but gave them all as admins,, so I changed it back.
4- It's sps 2003 with backward-compatible folder,, as you know u set the permissions on the folders (web folders),, although permissions are correct but all user can't access them any more,, even me as an admin I tried to delete one of them & I could not.

I know it's very strange as you said ,, with lots going on,, but I still have hope that u can help me :)

Thanks again.
