Looks like there;s plenty of useful advice here, that's why I decided to post my question.

I'm trying to run a Crystal Report 7.0 on a GP Dynamics v5.x with Btrieve as the DB. There is an ODBC user DSN but I don't know the password to run the report.

As a GP newbee, just started working for this company a week ago, I don;t know how to reset the password or maybe create a new user and use that usr/pwd to run the report.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By default, Great Plains passwords (other than 'sa') are encrypted and cannot be used from other applications.

You must either set the passwords from SQL Enterprise manager to avoid the encryption, use RetrieveGlobals.dll from VBA and pass the password to Crystal, use a 3rd party product that launches Crystal for you or use a 3rd party product that allows the passwords to be stored without encryption.

Hope this helps
