Hi,

I changed the Administrator password for an iLO which resides in a Compaq 370. Now I can´t logon to the card, not with the new, nor with the old password.

Anyone knows if there´s a way to reset this password to it´s default value?

Thanks for helping me out.

Can't you do it from the F8 prompt when the server boots?

a copy of the label for the server with admin name and pwd is on the inside of server - just pop the side

or f8 on some but some you need to login so you would need label

Hi all!

Well.., that´s the problem.

I hit F8, it´ll ask me for the Administrator password, and it´will reject either the new password or the password as indicated on the label.

Very strange...

you remembering the case
ie Administrator
and then proper case of pwd

i know this is lame but all i can think off

Problem solved. The mainboard has a 6 pin switch block. The first is to override security settings on the iLO.

Power off, set switch 1 to off, start the machine and enter with F8. Set the password for the Administrator and Exit.
Power off, return swith to it´s default position and start machine.

Thanx for your posts!
