I have just started in a training business which has Windows 2000 Server and a number of workstations. Not an ideal setup as the original guy who set up the systems has gone awol without leaving details on what the password is.

At the moment, we have profiles with administrator priviledges, however, some things are still have denied access. One of which is the second hard drive which stores all the staff's data, which cannot be viewed on the server itself.

Is there a way, using Linux, or any other method at all, which will be able to get around this password or reset the password? It seems like a long shot but I need to explore thhis possilibity before thinking of a complete reconfiguration of the whole server, which would be a hassle.

Thanks in advance!

If you have other administrative accounts as you state, why not use one of those to reset the password on the orginal admin account?
