Hello!,
I work on a NT server 4.0 (this is one of the BDC in my company) and last week when I was at Internet I had the clasic blue "crash" screen with memory dumping data. Then the machine restarted and I logged on as Administrator as usual. As I had plenty of work I didn't checked the machine. Hours later I updated my Mcafee Antivirus with Super Dat file 4110. As you may know by now, this file had some kind of bug that made a lot of people lost their main NTFS partition on NT. When I finished I had a message of a boot sector virus. Then I boot from my original Mcafee floppy disk to clean it. When I finished I decided to launch Lotus Notes (which I had installed on drive D) with no result. A faster look to My PC showed me the status: I had only one Drive C and my 2 partitions D and E where missing. I don't have the emergency disk for this BDC. My HDD is 15GB and I had 3 almost equal partitions. Disk Administrator shows only one 14,324MB. Properties on My PC shows : used space 1.45GB and free space 1.46GB. That makes a total of 2.92GB. And this is why I think it's possible to recover. What do you think? Do you know of any tool or method I can work with?
Best Regards
