Running a system with an Aopen voice modem that dials out and plays voice messages over the phone automatically, when triggered from 3rd party software. The system was created on Windows 95 and has been upgraded to W2K. Now the modem will not play the voice messages (still dials out correctly). The drivers have all been upgraded to W2K, and the hardware is compatible. Can't find why the sounds won't play. Maybe missing one silly setting.

When you installed the W2k drivers, did it also install a WAV device? You should be able to see the WAV device under the Sounds settings in the Control Panel. Without a WAV device, the modem is no longer a multimedia device to your computer and won't be able to play sounds.

Actually...yes...those devices are present and working. Wondering if it isn't some .DLL change from 95 to 2000?
