I have repeatly lost my colors and have not been able to get them back. Only way I have found to get them back is to start completely over with a new sheet.

I'm new using this. All that is left is the outlines of all my shapes.

I use software at work for doing circuit design layout and have a reflex to hit escape when wanting to back out of a mouse click before letting off the mouse button. Well, in illustrator that makes the colors dissappear.

How do I get them back witout having to start over?

Thanks.

Whay:

If you look across the top of the window in your screenshot, you'll see how it says: "Adobe Illustrator - [pos.eps @ 400% (CMYK/Outline)]", meaning you are in outline mode, and in outline mode only actual paths will be shown, without any of their clothes on.

You are inadvertently switching to outline mode, and you can return to normal by using Ctrl-Y, or View>Preview.

I'm trying to send my brochure page 1 to the commercial printer and I'm using drop shadows behind pictures. I have to send pdf's. Upon sending the print dialog box gives a warning that "layers need flattening". I've sent several previous jobs to the printer and have never had this happen. Is it due to drop shadows? If so can it be flattened and sent? The drop shadows make it look waaaaay better!!! Please help.

Thanks,
Vicki
