lost linked server Please Help... little response in the past

Is there a way to detect if a linked server is available and if not pause replication and then detect when it becomes available again.

You could create a control database and table on each linked server and have a stored procedure try to do a link, then read from the table. Just a suggestion.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side because there is more manure there - original.
