My computer lost one day's worth of history from Internet explorer, version 6.0, and nobody deleted it. I have all of the previous days' history. Does anyone know how this could have happened?

Without knowing more about your setup (home PC / work PC with policies... shared PC?, etc...) it'd be hard to give an accurate answer, as it could be any one (or more) of a number of reasons:

- Someone could have deleted it without you knowing
- You may have a virus or spyware
- Your network / work / policy settings may have interfered with it
- Maybe you didn't browse any sites yesterday
- Aliens abducted you and so you lost a day
- A browser / windows update wiped your history

Those are just a few of the many I can think of.

Maybe you switched off the computer and it didn't have an opportunity to save the history data (or only partially saved it - causing it to rebuild and as a result you lost a days worth).

I'm sure it's not the end of the world. Hopefully you can remember the important sites you visited less than 24 hours ago [smile]

Cheers,
Jeff
