I recently had a user with emails stored on both an exchange server aswell as a PST file on his machine. I went to move the emails from the inbox of the PST file to the inbox located on the exchange server. In doing this I accidentally moved the emails to the "Outlook Today - Mailbox" folder that the other folders (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items etc) branch off. I can no longer see these emails as they no longer exist in the inbox of the PST file and they have not appeared in any folders undereath "Outlook Today - Mailbox" (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items etc). Where have these emails gone and how can I get to them ????

in the folder list (view, folder list) highlight outlook today, right click on outlook today and select "advanced find"
then hit find now, and click on the "in folder" field to sort by which folder the emails are in.
now go to the T's and look for "Top of Information Store"
those should be your lost emails.
This is in Outlook 2000, not sure if it works for other versions.

then just highlight the emails and drag them to your inbox, or wherever you want them to go.

The other option is to right-click on Outlook today and select Properties. On the Home Page tab, uncheck 'Show homepage by default....'. Apply and you will see the messages.
