Running symantec mail gateway 4.0.
Seems the service partially died, started receiving complaints email not getting through.
Tried to restart the service (showed it was running) but that failed. A manual start of the service then worked.
To be on the safe side, the server was rebooted.
There is a period of 2 hours where mail is lost. The symantec logs show it was delivered but the qmail server on the other side says no.
Is this a known issue? Any advice on retrieving the email? Nothing in the Q folder. This seems to be an un-acceptable situation.
