Hi All
Have a laptop Extensa 650 (old) running win98se, the drives can be swapped either cd or floppy but I can not access either. Looking at the Autoexec mscdex and oakcdrom are missing but how can I get them back as I cant get to the drives. I have had this before but just cant remember how I solved it, too much time infront of the screen.
One last prob I have a PCMCIA with 2xUSB ports USB2 and if I plug it in the screen goes blank and sometimes will boot into safe mode, cant tell the make of card as bought it second hand, have tried various drivers but still have the same probs. Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

see this for pcmcia card;

Start > Run MSinfo32
expand +Components
somewhere in there should list some Card info

d/l and run Everest Home edition
for full System Info

for CDROM support do this;
Put the Dosstart entry in Autoexec.bat
Make sure the Files Oakcdrom.sys and Mscdex.exe are actually in C:\Windows\Command folder
if not Put them there
