One of our customers is running our (delphi) application with an Interbase 6 database residing on a Win2000 server and the application itself installed locally on an XP workstation.
Not sure if this falls under the realms of the Interbase forum or not, so apologies in advance if you think I have posted in the wrong place!
The user has been experiencing problems when going to lunch and leaving the app open and then returning. We are waiting to assertain if the PC goes into Standby or Hibernation, but upon return when trying to save records the application returns an error as follows:
Unable to complete network request to host "server01"
Error writing data to the connection
unknown win32 error 10053
Ending the app and restarting resolves the issue, but we are keen to identify what has caused the connection to be lost - the app has no such timeout settings and initial tests here did not throw up any such problems.
Is this likely to be an XP issue (we know that the client machines firewall is disabled) or is it more likely to be something on the server cancelling/timing out the connection? (or something else?!)
Any advice would be gratefully received
Thanks
Paul.
