Lost BCM50 Telephony Data

Here is a strange one. BCM50 2.0. we had preprogrammed this thing 2 months ago. When we pulled it off the shelf to install we had no programming on the telephony or the IP info side. Voicemail is still intact.

Any thoughts on why we would have this data. NO the tech did not do a backup prior to storing it.

Telephony programming has a limited "shelf life" if there is no power applied.

If you're going to shelf a BCM or Norstar after programming, do a backup first..

Although, I did have a Norstar 616 keep it's programming for 7 months while it was in transit to Korea via the Philippines.. Was being transferred to the Philippines in June 2001, when the volcano (Mt Pinatubo) erupted, then was diverted to Korea.. My personal belongings stayed in California on hold till November, and I finally received them in Korea in December.. Plugged the 616 into the wall and all the programming was there... Thought it odd because Nortel had said it would only retain it for about a month...

Look on the shelf you will find the ones but the zeros may have rolled off onto the floor. Pretty easy to clean up the ones but you need a vacuum for the zeros as they tend to roll away......
