I recently upgraded from Win 98 to Win XP Pro....The upgrade went smoothly, but when I opened outlook express my address book was there but my email messages were gone....I did an upgrade, not a clean install....is there a way that I can recover my email messages that I had when I was running win 98?

Search your drive for *.dbx When you find the files, use OE's Import function.

In Windows98 the .dbx files are kept in the Windows\Application Data\Identities folder somewhere. In windows XP/2000 they are kept in the \Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ folder somewhere. If you grap them from the WIndows98 folder to the one in 2000/XP your messages should be fine. This is assuming XP did not remove the folder under WIndows.
