Hello team.
Today i was working on my laptop on BEM for quite long time.
for some reason i needed to reboot my laptop and when started the BEM i could not see the folders with BCM systems i had.
I browse to the installation folder and i see many dat files for example 12119080.dat that i believe are each of the stored BCM system has a dat file.
Any ideas?
I have an XML backup somewhere but it is not updated.

regards

Nikos

Hello Nikos

The directory is located in e.g.

C:\Users\Donald\.bcm\BEM\bin\access
You need to have the file "summary.xml" Make sure that you close down BCM Element Manager first. Check the file size and date it was last changed. You can change this file if you have another computer with a customer database on.

I would rename any file found in there first before replacing it and I always use Notepad to open it up.
Once you have made a change, open up BEM to see if the directory has changed.

i have a backup looking for it.
thanks

Found the backup the correct xml file is 447 kb.
restored everything.
the quiz is why it killed the file? anyway keeping an offline backup is always a saver.

thanks for the help.

Hello Nikos

It's happened to me a few times. I tend to copy the file and rename the extension to e.g. summary.txt

Glad you got it all back up and running again.
