I accidentally changed the settings for one of my extensions, and now when I press 9 I get an angry tone instead of the dial tone that I get on any of the other extensions. I tried adding the four outgoing trunks (801, 802, 803, 804) to the extension, but that didn't work. When I checked the other extensions they don't have any of the outgoing trunks listed either. What do I do to get a dial tone when I press 9 on this extension again?

Go into WinSPM, do a print of the offending extension, as well as an extension that works correctly. Then do a stare and compare, or use WinSPM report viewer's built in function to highlight the differences.

There are many ways to restrict an extension, this will be the surest way to find it.

Well, I can't seem to get WinSPM working, so that isn't really an option for me. I suppose getting that to work would be helpful for me in all sorts of other ways too, but I have just never been able to get my computer to connect to the PBX. Right now I have it set up like this:

Admin Port -> Standard Ethernet Cable
Ethernet Cable -> 355AF
355AF -> Printer Cable
Printer Cable -> 25-pin to 9-pin Converter
Converter -> Serial Cable
Serial cable -> Computer

But when I try to connect it gives me an error message.

All the settings on my computer are correct (ie. 2400, 8, 1, none, etc.). So I don't know what the deal is.

if you have a console to program from then copy the restrictions from a working extension to the one that is not working and try again. If that doesn't work then you know it is not a restriction and might be the pool dialout that is gone and put that back into place.

I have had people accidently program an extension for account codes. Go into Extensions>Account>Press the inspect button to see if extension is in their or dial ext. no. of the extension that can't dial out. Press delete.
