I have an IRIX 6.4 system and I forgot the root password. How can I backdoor into it to change it?

boot on the cdrom, then mount your partion
make a vi of /etc/shadow (or passwd under irix, i dont remember) then remove the cryted letters on the root user line....save then reboot.... no more root passwd.
