I have several pcs connected to my lan at home. I often share files/printers between them. I am running XP pro on all machines. Since I have installed a 3Com 3CR858-91 Cable/DSL router I have problems with sharing files and printers. No problems with internet access to any of the computers, just not able to share files or even view computers in my work group. If I remove the router, connect directly to the Westel modem and reset for the modem to provide DHCP all works fine. I have not had much luck finding help with this issue. Any hints will be most appreciated. Thanks

You might want to review the router's config to make sure there are no conflicts. Also check 3COM's website for any firmware updates for your hardware.

What does the router config look like? Have you tried using static IPs? Can each machine PING the others?

I haven't tried all of those tests. I will and then update. The configuration does seem to be correct. Thanks for your help and will update you soon.
