ok guys new problem that has to many things it could be so I'm passing it to you all. There is one computer in our office that will perodically lose our shared drive on the server. It will come back up once the restart is applied. Any ideas on this one. Windows XP pro is what the machine is running.

We could do with some more information.

Is the PC using DHCP or is the address manually assigned if it's manual then check that the DNS settings are correct.

Are there any other differences with this PC compared to the others, software, services, is it connected to a different switch.

Does it happen at certain times or is it random?

Cheers.

What if you try to reconnect (without restarting)?

Sorry guys I fixed the problem. It was the patch cable going bad.
