Losing Shadow Copies on Cluster

Hi,

Here's the problem I am having:

I have a 2 node 2003 ent. Cluster. Running with iscsi disks as shared resource.

I can create a shadow copy on either node fine. But when I flip the cluster from one node to the other, all the shadow copies disappear.
I installed the hotfix 887827 that is alleged to fix this problem, but it didn't help.

I see the following error in the apps log:

The shadow copies of volume N: were aborted during detection because a critical control file could not be opened.

Source is VolSnap
Event ID is 27

I've tried setting the Volsnap service to depend on the MSiSCI service in the registry on both nodes, but this didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas what is going wrong here? What is the critical control file it can't open? How can I find out?

thanks!

I had this issue where I had my old file server data moved on to a raid array on a new cluster we installed. I shared the home directories and files the old way as in Win2K/NT environment non clustered. Every time the cluster failed over form one node to another all my shares would poof. I ended up creating a Cluster Resource for each share with the appropriate dependcies. So if I have a fail over now the second node in the cluster keeps my shares alive because they are Cluster Resources now. I'm not sure if you are having a similar issue but it sounds a lot like the problems I would have on a fail over. However I've yet to delve into 2003 too far so Shadow Copy is something I have yet to learn. I hope I shed some light.
