losing report formats from Impromptu 5.0 to 6.0

We have automated a solution to generate reports from VB. And its an incredible performance, almost generating 400 reports/hour.

But the new issue that I have found is.. that some of the reports were created in 5.0. And we are accessing those reports from 6.0 now. And while doing that, we are losing format. Now my reports are spanning across 2 pages instead of 1 page, in landscape mode. This is because, the last column on the report is diplayed on the second page.

I thought that higher versions of Impromptu will keep everything intact.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to preserve the layout to one page, as I had in 5.0??

Is everything else exactly the same? While some report differences may occur between 5 and 6, printing and previewing is generally unaffected. The predominate factor in unexpected changes there is changes in printers or print drivers, or fonts.

Are all of your report columns statically sized horizontally? If not, the changing width values of the first scanned rows can make the report exceed the boundaries of the page.

Thanks for your response. I have checked my reports & nothing has been changed. We are using the same reports against the same database & the only difference is the version. All the columns are with static size. We have exact same fonts. But the interesting issue is.. the location of the fileds, including labels have moved to rightside. And the grid that we have used, also adjusted all columns to have more width.

Even when I preview, I see more pages, because of the last column being printed on the next page.

I made the reports read-only thinking that they wont get changed. but still having issues with it.

Is there any setting, that I am missing?
