I am using SBS2003, i have scripts written to connect a couple of network drives when users log on to the server. I can see that the scripts run and most of the time work fine. Some days though i come in and all of the users have lost their drives. has anyone any idea why?

Are you using persistent connections? What does your script look like? Are you using vbscript or bat files?

I have an extensive login script FAQ faq329-5798 you might benefit from.

I hope you find this post helpful.

thanks for the response. i will look through the FAQ

Its worth checking the computer browser service and server service, i have had a few problems with SBS boxes and its all been related to these two services stopping.

With SBS, you really should have drives mapped by the default login script that's required to run on an SBS network. The script is at \\Netlogon\sbs_login_script.bat and there's a great article on how to modify this for mapping drives here:
I would note though, that the SBS development team considers drive mapping to be "old school" and you'll likely see a rather strong drift away from the practice. This is because shared resources are much better kept in SharePoint, and since the companyweb is pre-configured on SBS, it makes it rather simple to use.
