Hello all,
Here's my situation. I have a single subnet LAN. I connect to Qwest VDSL through a PIX 506 which is connected to a "Etherset", which is connected directly to Qwest. Lately we've been losing our internet connectivity. We can generally get it back by cycling the power on the etherset. The Etherset has been swapped out once but that didn't solve the problem. When the Qwest tech came to check out the problem he hooked up what he called a "snifter" to the etherset, obtained an IP and was able to ping yahoo, therefore there was no problem. Typical of Qwest.
I'm looking for a way to pinpoint and document exactly what is happening, maybe some sort of packet monitor or sniffer. Could somebody suggest a way of tracking down exactly what/when/why we have this problem?
Thanks.
