Its been a while, but I remember there being an issue where groups would disappear if the IPO was configured as a DHCP client on LAN 1.
If your system is set as a DHCP client on LAN 1, set a static address, reboot and that should take care of it, or use LAN2/WAN if DHCP is the only option.
biv343 nailed it 100% sure you have the LAN port set to be a DHCP client(its set this way by default and should always be changed). If you have the LAN port set to be DHCP client, and the IP changes, your groups disappear. This has been around since I got involved with IPO and will likely be there till the end.
If you happen to know what the IP use to be if you change the IPO to that IP the groups will actually come back just a FYI.
The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
