Losing connection to LAN after connecting to VPN (intermittently)

Hi, can anyone please help with the following problem:

Hardware: Cisco VPN Concentrator 3000 series
LAN Server: Windows NT
PC Clients: Win 98 & Win 2000

After connecting to the VPN, I am losing connection to my LAN (message indicates that network resources are not available). This is an intermittent problem in that it doesn't happen all the time. When it does happen it is not immediately, it will take anywhere from 10mins-30mins after connecting to the VPN. The connection to the remote resources are fine regardless of the status on the local side.
