We are experiencing a weird problem. Everytime the BCM450 reboots we are loosing our ASM module which are installed over the expansion cabinet.

That will occur on software reboot and cold reboot only, the way I use to bring it back is to unplug & replug the expansion cabinet once the BCM450 is fully started, then I see the ASM.

We have no error in any logs, all latest patches are installed, Main cabinet contains 3XDSM32, 1XPRI & expansion cabinets contains 2XASM, 2X DSM32, 1XPRI, 1XG4/16. System also contains one Expansion card.

How do I solve that problem, should I change the system setup (MBM order).

Power supply

Had this weird issue happen a few times to me

Replace the power supply in the main cabinet did the trick

Another BCM 450 System patch for release 5 and 6 was issued last week. It's now BCM450.R600.SU.System-016.201302-1.

The update address's many problems and I've found an update for..

Software update BCM450.R600.SNMP-PROVIDER-85
---------------------------------------------
1. SNMP service not running after reboot of BCM
SNMP service will not be running after the BCM reboot.
This update will start the service if SNMP is enabled,
once the BCM is rebooted.

It might be worth updating it if you haven't already done so.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Snmp has nothing to do with the asm but you should definately always be patched up to date as recommended above
